La mia conoscenza con Paolo Grossi risale al 1965, quando in quell’anno lo incontrai nella sede dell’IDAIC di piazza d’Azeglio, da lui frequentato fin dal precedente decennio.Paolo Grossi ha fornito all’IDAIC, quale segretario generale dal 1966 al 1985, la sua capacità di creare e rafforzare rapporti personali con colleghi anche stranieri, contribuendo, con convegni e incontri scientifici, a diffondere la cultura agraristica nel mondo. Sempre nello stesso periodo si deve a Paolo Grossi l’iniziativa dell’IDAIC di assegnare borse di studio a valenti giovani italiani e stranieri, garantendo così la formazione delle nuove generazioni su tematiche particolarissime proprie del diritto agrario. Nel tempo del suo segretariato il patrimonio librario dell’IDAIC non solo si è aggiornato mediante l’acquisizione di pubblicazioni italiane ed estere, ma anche si è arricchito di libri del passato, taluni di preziosa rarità, divenendo una delle più esclusive biblioteche mondiali in materia agraristica.L’IDAIC è stato per Paolo Grossi il luogo del proficuo incontro con Giangastone Bolla, che allora era l’avvocato delle Regole ampezzane nella loro controversia contro il comune di Cortina. In tal modo ebbe la possibilità di vivere nel concreto la realtà delle comunità titolari di proprietà collettive che erano state e continuavano ad essere oggetto dei suoi studi teorici. La legge 168 del 2017 sui domini collettivi risente delle sue idee e formule.La sua autorevolezza, radicata sulla immensa cultura, sul rigore scientifico e sulla profonda sensibilità, ha fatto di Lui un costante modello cui guardare, non solo per gli studiosi del diritto ma anche per tutti coloro che del diritto hanno fatto la propria professione.
My acquaintance with Paolo Grossi dates back to 1965, when that year I met him at the IDAIC headquarters in Piazza d’Azeglio, which he had frequented since the previous decade.Paolo Grossi provided IDAIC, as Secretary General from 1966 to 1985, with his ability to create and strengthen personal relationships with colleagues, including foreign ones, contributing, through conferences and scientific meetings, to spreading the agricultural culture around the world. In the same period, Paolo Grossi was responsible for the IDAIC initiative to assign scholarships to talented young Italians and foreigners, thus ensuring the training of the new generations on very particular issues of agricultural law. During the time of its secretariat, the IDAIC’s book patrimony has not only been updated through the acquisition of Italian and foreign publications, but has also been enriched with books from the past, some of precious rarity, becoming one of the most exclusive world libraries on agricultural law topics.The IDAIC was for Paolo Grossi the place of a fruitful meeting with Giangastone Bolla, who was then the lawyer of the “Regole Ampezzane” in their litigation against the municipality of Cortina. In this way he had the opportunity to live the reality of the local rural communities holding “proprietà collettive” that had been and continued to be the object of his theoretical studies. Law No 168 of 2017 on “domini collettivi” is affected by his ideas and formulas.His authority, rooted in immense culture, scientific rigor and profound sensitivity, has made him a constant model to look at, not only for research scholars but also for all those who have made law as their profession.
